XFS is a great filesystem, I run it on all my servers and desktop. SGI created it the mid 90s and ported it to Linux in 2001 so it’s quite mature and still actively developed. It’s just a filesystem though, so if you want parity use md raid, if you want snapshots use lvm, encryption use luks and such.

As an engineer who’s worked exclusively with Linux for 25 years this meme makes me want to buy a windows license.

When I think of server hardware I think about systems with ECC memory, NUMA, SAS storage and backplanes, infinaband, redundant power supplies, out of band management and such that’s not available on desktop class hardware.
