Now he's upending many of their businessesEnglish3·1 day agoI think he’s referring to the assumption most have had since the 80’s when this started really taking off in a bad way, which was corpo-fascism as a dystopia. We were definitely heading in that direction, and still kinda are, but Trump just kneecapped pretty much every US corporation in one fell swoop, for absolutely zero gain.

neukenindekeuken@sh.itjust.worksto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•are there bots that downvote every comment users have?211·1 day agoPretty sure it’s just users that disagree going and downvoting latest comments. At least for me, there was a MAGAt that didn’t like anti-trump stuff and gave me 1 downvote on everything I posted from that single comment, on backwards in my history for about a week or so.
I thought it was a bot at first, but then I realized it started right after my comment replying to him correcting him on his conspiracy theory stupidity cult nonsense. Everything posted after that comment received no downvotes.
😂 It was not, but now it will be.
This is the same thing that happened back in the day with Digg/Reddit. Same shit.
There’s bots, or just a broader user base that disagrees, but in general, I’ve noticed Lemmy being a bit better over the last 2 years since I exodused Reddit.
Anyhow, point being, I do respect your view and perspective that things are getting more negative, but that’s a part of the growth cycle of these systems, and the same thing was said at similar times during other platform’s growing periods.
Just keep being positive and be the change you want to see on Lemmy and others will follow.

neukenindekeuken@sh.itjust.worksto No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•how do I avoid becoming conformist, lazy and completely incapable of learning something new?13·5 days agoStay curious about the world around you and improving your arsenal of skills. Skills and knowledge are the one thing nobody can take away from you, and that you only get through hard work and dedication to a craft or multiple crafts.
Get into and out of new things all the time, or focus on one new thing until you run it into the ground. Do whatever your excitement leads you.
Learning about new technologies, playing with them and practicing with them are the core of what keeps us sharp and young. You’re only old once you start believing you have everything figured out.
You can’t get it multiple times from the same partner unless it’s hsv-1,and even then it’s rare after you’ve built up a resistance to the virus and they’d need to be in an active outbreak.
But yes, you can migrate the location of hsv1, the most common herpes type (incorrectly referred to as oral herpes). You want to be especially careful if it migrates to your facial area beyond your mouth/lips as occular herpes can cause blindness, and if it spreads to your nose and brain, there’s a real chance you could die.
These are rare in first world countries though and are typically seen in places without access to clean water and sanitation.

It can be very, very inexpensive for the costs of a court filing fee and a friend getting an online certification to officiate the wedding.
You get tax breaks while married, and a lot of things in life are easier when you’re married and sharing the same living space, bills, etc. The world has been built to make it more economical and easier.
It’s the getting divorced that’s expensive and sucks. As long as you can avoid doing that, or have a prenup in place, you’re good.
