My 8th grade history class went to a Holocaust museum where they had one of the rail cars set up as an exhibit. They had the touring group shift to one end to mimic how packed the cars could get and shut the doors and turned off the lights in the car. Then the guides read from the writings of those that experienced these trains. Could almost hear the train rumbling down the tracks. When we were done with the tour, we were fortunate enough to hear from a survivor. He showed us his tattoo and told us his story. I’m still affected by it 20+ years later.
