I think it’s best to straght ghost them, but I haven’t personal had to do that to family-- only family friends. They won’t change their views for you, it’s really just for your own mental health and a clean cut is so much more satisfying.

That reminds me that conduct disorder is treated with meds, too. A bunch of very angry, trouble with authority folks going off on our government sounds appropriate… almost like it’s the neurotypical folks who aren’t behaving right.

It’s common for a Japanese person to say it’s good anyway. I once was told this simply for knowing how to say you’re welcome. That said, it’s a long process to learn but nice when you make some headway.

Oh, you didn’t have to delete your post, it was a valid question. Code switching is basically the ability to change language without mixing them up. It helps a lot with fluency and something professional translators are good at. My daughter asks her mom questions in Japanese and me in English and builds her two languages independently.

Good to get that off my chest, I drop my kid off at a Japanese daycare and our parenting strategy is to stick to English to help with her code switching. My white ass has to say Good Morning knowing full well how to speak Japanese, lol.

I do call all holidays dumb but I’ll still use it as an excuse to take a day off or do something. I teach at an all girls university and they are 100% on board having Friday off in the name of Valentine’s Day. Lol

My daughter cheers Go Go Go! When they do that action song during an episode, and part of me wants a parody that just continues that repetition without ever ending until the credits fade to black.

I’m also not too worried about my daughter becoming right wing. She can already tell how uncomfortable I am around cops, lol (but she mostly just loves firefighters and construction workers).

Like every other episode involves some train crash or other perfectly avoidable catastrophe. Granted, that’s maybe their nepo mayors fault (her grandpa was mayor back in the day) but they’re still very complicit.
