So, uh, what are the odds of two trans people sleeping together? I’m asking honestly. Seems a really unlikely combo.

Seems like a charged question one already knows the answer to.

(disclaimer: I’m a cis guy so take this with a grain of salt) Actually quite likely. Dating is hard for trans people because on one side there’s a lot of bigotry/transphobia/… And on the other side trans people (especially trans women) have been fetishized, so I can imagine that the dating scene does not feel very safe. Combine this with the fact that other trans people tend to understand best what someone who’s trans has lived through and it seems quite natural that trans people often date other trans people.

I have no idea on the statistics, but would consider this from the perspective of some other groups of individuals that commonly associate with each other. People with common backgrounds and experiences (actors, alcoholics, aristocrats, etc.) tend to be in each other’s company. Coupling among them doesn’t seem uncommon.

Honestly, more common than you’d think. A lot of trans people feel safer and less judged with other trans people than cisgender people

That isn’t the reason. Nor is it because dating is ‘hard’ or any other BS you’ve been lied to about. Women don’t sleep together because uh… they feel safer together than being with men but because they’re gay/bi. That’s just an example of how politically manipulated/shaped you are.

T4T - Trans-for-trans - is very “popular” (if that’s the right word) within the trans community, and ties in somewhere within the spectrum of the gay sexuality. Any other fancy explanation is politically motivated.

Mercury Stardust (trans handy ma’m) is married to a NB person, iirc, although I’m not sure if they consider themselves trans.

Look at all those labels in one sentence. It’s as if it’s easy to manipulate and isolate people with labels based on a characteristic.
