  • The internet in the 2000s was like a WW1 Trenchline. Noise and graphic content everywhere and one wrong move could cost you life or limb.

I dont exactly remember when it started getting “safer” because I think the same time the internet was getting safer to browse, a lot of Millenial and Zillenial kids were getting smarter and otherwise learning how to not get malware and worms on their PC

  • Likely because those sites are built by the same provider.

I work for a car dealership and all of the other dealerships of the same brand in our region use the same family of providers, We -used- to have the faces of real employees pop up on the chat thing until they got too busy to handle it

now its the same stock photo of a person who likely doesnt even exist

  • an important caveat about what happened with Russia, an enormous amount of their military was only on paper, because it had either been lied about, or stuff was stolen, from various positions on the pecking order.

It should also be noted that after a shitshow of year 1 and being unable to fight a combined arms mechanized war, they switched back to the brute force and massive casualty strategy, and for all intents and purposes, It worked, all Ukraine can do is try to hold territory and kill soldiers, but realistically due to Western cowardice and ratfuckery, the door closed a long time ago on Ukraine being able to dislodge Russia from its stolen territory.

When I switched to a new CPU I got a bit locker message and it was one of my biggest computer scares ever. I couldn’t remember if the shop that assembled my pc would have enabled it or not. And wasn’t available to contact.

I had to take a risk. If I continued there was a 50 50 chance my shit would have been bricked. Thankfully. That shop had the foresight to NOT randomly enable features the client didn’t ask for

  • I’ve tried so many methods that ended in failure, I just gave up and learned to live without

different devices, AFAIK my work PC, personal desktop and both my old and new phone are probably comprmised somehow

tried using incognito mode, different browsers, coupled with different emails. even caved and tried a VPN,

always ended the same way. Make the account, and it gets shadowbanned as soon as I post. Even tried posting in completely different subs instead of the usual suspects.

until I commit to getting a burner laptop or some other device, they got me . I just dont care enough to go that extra step, its fucken reddit. the only thing reddit is good for is niche interest communities, hobbies, etc. the usual swill with News Politics and Sports is just blood pressure raising brainrot
